On 5 November 39 members of the Fall Social Club met at the home of Nancy Nasser for their bi-weekly event. With so many attending, the spread of appetizers was a sight to behold and served as dinner as well for renewing friendships with snow birds arriving back at their Southern roosts. A rousing round of Happy Birthday greeted the birthday girl, Phyllis Russell. Everyone met Jim Burgess (Board Candidate) and his wife Dianna just arriving from Canada. As the Fall event schedule is coming to an end, many related this Social Club to a leisurely tour of homes. "With only 7 different floor plans in Myrtle Trace it is always exciting to see what owners have done with it". Nancy's home was remarkable with a magnificent kitchen, and "closets to die for". This spacious home was made for entertaining and achieved it in grand style.

Forty ghosts and goblins flew in to attend this year's Halloween Costume Party, chaired by Carol and John Ball. There were numerous original costumes, but the prizes were awarded to the first place winner Mary McHugh who came as a Can Can Golfer; second place winners were shared by Karen & Dick Page dressed as clowns; and Terri & Joe Cook who came as a bag lady and her bag man!      The evening meal was a unique braided bread filled with chopped meat and rice mixture and the Myrtle Trace sheet cake. Lottery tickets surprised everyone when they lifted their dinner plates, and several cashed in on the prize money. The 50/50 winner of the $27 was Nancy Johnson. Games, trivia, and raffles kept the evening fun and eventful. Now, all thoughts are dreaming up next year's costumes!

On 15 October the Fall Social Club went on another "field trip" to the Plantation Golf and Country Club. With a large attendance, they began in the new bar area with happy hour drinks and social mingling. A few early returning seasonal owners were able to re-acquaint friendships and see the recently completed refurbishments to the country club. Some exterior work on the decks and cart path were still in progress. Following the social hour, they were called to dinner in the Grille room where everyone focused on a most spectacular sunset. The Fall Social Club typically rotates between local homes and "field trips".
